19. 03. 2017 | The MEg202.5 communication unit provides remote transmission of states or changes of binary inputs and commands by GSM/GPRS, GSM/UMTS/HSPA and GSM/LTE networks of mobile operators. MEg202.5 enables integration of connected devices to the SCADA system.

The MEg202.5 communication unit with DIN rail compatibility in its basic configuration provides remote transmission of states or changes of binary inputs and commands by GSM/GPRS, GSM/UMTS/HSPA and GSM/LTE networks of mobile operators. The measured values are collected and remotely transmitted through a serial communication line with RS485 interface from connected measuring instruments. It implements the standardized communication protocol according to IEC 60870-5-104 and thus enables integration of connected devices to the SCADA system either directly or by means of data concentrators.

The MEg202.5 unit contains a processor that communicates with connected devices, optimizes and controls data transmission through change criteria, provides pre-processing of data read from the measuring devices, supervises the connected devices and, in case of an event, it conveys information to the superior system. Data are sent also as short message texts.

The MEg202.5 communication unit allows remote update of control programs both of connected measuring instruments and of its control program with increased resistance against interferences during the remote transmission.
