18. 03. 2017 | The MEg46PAN monitor is designed for measuring in industrial energy operations on the LV level and is able to evaluate of overvoltage up to 6 kV. It is characterized by the flexibility of its functions and expectations of integration into measuring systems.

The MEg46PAN instrument is designed for long-term measuring and registering data describing parameters of a LV power network. It measures three phase voltages and three phase currents, calculates quality parameters (Class S) according to EN 50160:2010, stores them in the internal memory and transfers them through the chosen interface. It also analyses overvoltages with a minimum size of 1 kV and up to 6 kV and captures ripple control telegrams individually in individual phases. It measures active and reactive electrical powers and registers the electrical work. In addition, it contains two analog inputs for connecting resistance thermometers or other sensors, 1 galvanically free binary input and 1 contact output realized by a bistable relay. It is designed as a panel instrument with a size of 90 x 90 mm. The instrument is powered from the measured network voltage. The internal back-up is ensured for 1 minute after the external power supply is disconnected.

                Access to the measured data and control is possible in several ways. The data can be obtained by copying to PC using a USB cable (MEg46PAN appears to be a USB external disk), through ETHERNET 10/100Mbit/sec. (802.3u) interface via HTTP or MODBUS-TCP protocol. In addition, the instrument is provided with a galvanically isolated RS485 serial interface with the MODBUS-RTU communication protocol.

                The instrument also allows secondary processing, which is user modifiable. This way, specific data files can be created or own application data transferred via the interface. The secondary processing deals with commands in script files. They are available to the user who can change them without intervening in the FW. The scripts can be started on request, in defined intervals, manually with a button or depending on measured values. It is thus possible to address simple autonomous control/protection tasks.
